The visionary leader who received the divine inspiration to establish Word of Faith Group of Schools and brought the vision to reality.
The Word of Faith Group of schools grew out of a vision from God. The vision came first to Archbishop M.E Benson-Idahosa (OON) many years ago. It was made clear to her that there was a great need to establish an institution where children are challenged academically, trained spiritually and given freedom to express themselves creatively.
Our Journey Through Time
The Beginning
The God of the vision made provision available through the Archbishop Most Rev. Prof. B. A. Idahosa. His determination, total commitment and massive financial support translated the vision into reality. The Word of Faith Group of schools took off in 1979 at the Headquarters of Church of God Mission Int. premises. It began operation as a Pre-School with three staff (Including the Proprietress) and 23 children.
Primary School Accreditation
On 23rd of January 1982, the Primary School was accredited by the Federal Government, marking a significant milestone in the school's development and recognition.
Secondary School Accreditation
In 1984 the secondary school was also accredited. This success has been replicated all over the nation, with over 108 schools established in 6 geopolitical zones.
Abuja Campus Launch
In 2000, the Word of Faith Group of schools, Abuja was launched with just nine staff. The Proprietress herself was present at the Abuja school on the 2nd day of inception to pray for both the staff and students.
Boarding Facilities
On September 15th 2003, the first phase of the school's Hostel facilities for both male and female students was completed and the boarding school took off immediately. The school has grown since then to become one of the best schools in FCT-Abuja.
Where We Are Today
As at today, the Abuja School has well over 1,500 students and it is our utmost desire to maintain and exceed the optimal standards which Word of Faith Group of Schools is known for. Our commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and holistic development continues to shape generations of leaders.
